Unusual large 19th century Tibetan hand carved wood and polychrome statue, c1890.
Depicting a snake charmer the carving is good with nice detail to the face, hands, snake etc and the colours are still vibrant. Given the weight (3.5kg) we assume it is carved in hardwood and looks to be from a single block of wood.
Overall condition is good in line with age and use with only minor age related wear and small losses to the paint. Please refer to the detailed photographs and feel free to contact us if you would like to view the item or have any questions.
