A Large, heavy (2.3 kg) impressive antique French barbers bleeding bowl, c1880. This is the best example I have seen with great colour/patina and lovely decoration. It has the typical cut away section and is in white metal/pewter.
There is a central panel depicting a man in period costume being bled by a barber/surgeon. The outside of the bowl is decorated with script " Le melonogene dicquomare le rouen chenoeux a la barbe" (or similar).
Overall condition is good with only minor surface wear/rubbing and verdigris. Please refer to the detailed photographs and feel free to contact us with any questions, or if you would like to view the item.
