A lovely set of three antique 19th Century portrait miniatures of a gentleman and two ladies, c1840. All three are nicely composed and executed, and have a real charm.
The portrait of the gentleman has had new backing applied, and there is a small crack in the frame. There is a very small dent in the brass rim around one of the other frames, but otherwise they are in good condition. One of the portraits of a lady is sealed (possibly with wax) so we cannot open it up, but the other one does open and on the rear of the painting is an ink inscription: 'Immeline - wife of Lieut George Drake BR of Ashling House Sussex by Westall
' (or similar).
