A rare antique early 19th Century George III brass tavern 'honesty' tobacco box by Rich, c1800.
The box has its original key, and the coin operated mechanism looks intact and working. It has two compartments with hinged covers, one with a push button and raised money slots, and stands on four ball feet.
It is in good original condition with minor surface wear and what appears to be an historic repair to one of the ball feet (see photo). This is all very much what you would expect from something over 200 years old.
