A good example of a large African tribal Benin bronze bust, c1930. Nicely cast in the traditional lost wax method, it has good incised detailing/decoration and great colour/patination consistent with many years of use.
The lost wax method gives each piece wonderful character, as they are all slightly different. There are a few small surface marks and one small dent, but these are very minor and in no way detract from the overall charm of this piece - indeed they are just what you would expect from an item of this age.
Overall we would describe the bust as being in good condition commensurate with age and use. Please refer to the detailed photographs and feel free to contact us with any questions or if you would like to view the item.
